Kool April Nites Cruise Information
The Cruise will take place rain or shine.
Cruise Schedule
- Cruise Time: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
- Street Closures Begin: 5:00 PM
We strongly recommend arriving before 5:30 PM, finding your place on the route, and waiting for the cruise to begin at 6:30 PM.
Tickets & Vehicle Requirements
- No tickets or wristbands are required to participate in the Cruise.
- Your Cruise/Parking pass must match the vehicle you registered for the event.
- Vehicles that do not match registration will be asked to leave the Cruise route.
Route Closures & Entry Instructions
Route lockdown begins at 5:00 PM with the following closures:
- Northbound off‑ramp to Hilltop Drive
- Eastbound SR 44 off‑ramp to Hilltop Drive
Do not attempt to enter the Cruise route from these locations after 5:00 PM.
How to Enter After 5:00 PM
If you are coming from the Redding Civic Auditorium after 5:00 PM, use one of the following entry points:
Dana Drive at Churn Creek Road
- Exit SR 44 at Victor Ave, then travel to Dana Drive
Cypress Ave at Hilltop Drive
- Exit I‑5 at Cypress Ave, then travel to Hilltop Drive
These entry points will remain open for registered Kool April Nites vehicles, even after the Cruise has begun.
Important Reminder
The Cruise route is closed to all vehicles except those registered for Kool April Nites.
Official Rules for the Cruise
Redding Police Department Requirements
To participate in the Kool April Nites Cruise, all drivers and passengers must follow these rules as required by the City of Redding and the Redding Police Department.
Driver Rules
- Maintain a safe distance between vehicles
- Obey all traffic laws
- Citations may be issued for:
- Moving violations
- Alcohol‑related violations
- Citations may be issued for:
- No alcohol consumption by drivers
- Do not throw any objects from the vehicle
(including candy, balloons, or any items)
Passenger Rules
- No throwing objects from the vehicle
(including candy, balloons, or any items) - No alcohol consumption
Open container laws apply on the cruise route - Passengers must remain seated while the vehicle is moving
General Cruise Rules
- Maintain a safe speed at all times
- Vehicles must be:
- Safely operated
- In good mechanical condition
- Street legal
- Cruise traffic flows in ONE direction only from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM:
- North on Hilltop Drive
- East on Dana Drive
- South on Churn Creek Road
- West on Cypress Avenue
- During cruise hours, you may proceed through traffic signals at a safe speed as directed
- To participate, you must be in the cruise area before 6:00 PM
Vehicles arriving after 6:00 PM will not be allowed through police barricades
Zero‑Tolerance Enforcement
⚠️ Any vehicle breaking traction or operating with open exhaust will risk immediate removal from the Cruise and/or Show.
