For our Vendors, the show opens at the Civic Auditorium on Friday 12n-5pm, Sat 7am-5pm & Sun 8am-1pm. There are also daily show n' shines that lead up to the main event at the Civic (see the schedule on the home page)
Food Vendors (non-packaged foods) - We heard your feedback about the 2017 show, and we are now accepting food vendor applications this year!
Please do not submit an application to be a food vendor until you have contacted our temporary food vendor liaison, Chris Gomez at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please be aware, we give preference to our returning snack vendors as space is limited.
All of our food vendors are required to fill out an application and attach a certificate of insurance (naming KAN and City of Redding as additional insured), and a Shasta County health permit. You can also go directly to the Shasta County website and navigate to: Shasta County Department of Resource Management, Environmental Health Division for information, guidelines, fees and forms at http://www.co.shasta.ca.us/index/drm_index/eh_index.aspx or call (530) 225-5787.
Fees: For Food Vendors that sell prepared food, there is a flat fee of $375. For food vendors selling only drinks, the flat fee is $150 per site. An initial fee of $100 is due and payable when your application is submitted. The balance will be due on Saturday 5pm (main show date). Applications are all due in by March 31st; thereafter, a late fee of $25 will be added.

Booth space is $200 for 1st 10'x10' space, $100 for each 10' added. Large rigs needing space over 10' in width or depth should contact the Vendor Coordinator first to establish the price. Price is the same for indoors or outdoors. Vendors will be provided with 2 all access passes with a 10'x10' space. Please talk to our Vendor Liaison if you need additional passes.
Insurance - we request that you provide your own liability insurance and name the City of Redding and Kool April Nites as "additional insured". The limit should be what is reasonable and customary based on your business and your insurance agent's recommendation.
Please be aware, we will most likely be utilizing the same map structure in 2018 that we used in the 2017 show.
Vendor Registration will open January 1st, 2018.
Late Fees: If you reserve a space after April 15th, 2018, we assess a late fee of $25 per 10' space.
Availability and Check In
All booth space is on a first come, first served basis. Returning vendors and car related accessory vendors have first priority. If you had a booth in the last KAN show, notify us no later than February 1, 2018 of your intent to return. If we have not heard from you by then, your space will be reassigned.
KAN has obtained a special permit for basic electrical service; however, it would be better to bring your own generator. If you need electrical service for your display, check the appropriate box on the exhibit space contract.
Vendor Check-In begins NO EARLIER THAN Thursday 4/26, 8 am–5 pm and Friday 4/27, 8am–12pm.
NO Saturday set-up!!!
Show Teardown is Sunday 4/29 between 12pm-2pm. Indoor vendors need to be vacated by 3pm.

Important Vendor Information
Vendor selling packaged food, please contact Shasta County Environment Health at 530-225-5787 to apply for health permit. If you are a "for profit" vendor that gives out "samples" of their packaged food, the 2015 permit fee is $67.10. If no samples, the fee may be waived, call to verify.
Temporary Business License for City of Redding The City of Redding requires a temporary license for you to sell within the city limits. Please select "City of Redding Business License" from the menu at left of application information on City's website. While the application is generic and is not necessarily designed for temporary vendor licenses, we highly recommend that you call the City Clerk's Office to obtain detailed information and pricing. City of Redding Temporary Business License City Clerks Office (530) 225-4056. The basic license starts at a fee of $13.50, but if you are a professional service or amusement those fees will be higher. NOTE: The City Clerk's Office is typically closed every other Friday.
California Sales Tax Number Requirement
Merchandise vendors please note: You must have a California Sales Tax Number (Resale #) before your application will be accepted. Please send your application in to the State Board two-four weeks before the event. Information can be obtained at the following website: http://www.boe.ca.gov/info/reg.htm
California Sales and Use Tax: The State of California has a sales use tax minimum fee (MTF) of $800 for certain S corporations, LLC's and Partnerships. Please have your tax accountant look at (Article 17, Regulation 1684) if you are not from California. There also appears to be exceptions to this MTF:
- They did not conduct any business in California during the tax year.
- Their tax year was 15 days or less.
- Individuals and Sole Proprietors do not appear to have this minimum tax fee (MTF) but are all subject to the standard tax laws of the minimum gross revenue/income filing amounts.
